Welcome to my blog!I'm Hannah Gorsline. Born and raised in the Quad Cities, I am now a student at the University of Iowa. I am on a economics track with a minor in writing. Join me on my journey to uncover the beauty surrounding the world around us, but more importantly within ourselves. Some things about me :)
I love to travel. I recently just returned from studying abroad in Paderno del Grappa, Italy this summer. This quaint and tiny mountain town was just about an hour outside of Venice.
I am always looking for something new to read. My current favorites include: The Success Principleby Jack Canfield, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou,Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nestby Ken Kesey,The Sun Does Shineby Anthony Ray Hinton, The Things They Carriedby Tim O'Brien. Email me if you have any recommendations!
I'm a member of Women In Business which encourages professional development among women studying at the University of Iowa whether this be from community service, networking, or leadership opportunities.
This year I also raised money to support and participate in the University of Iowa Dance Marathon. This organization really differentiates the University of Iowa from other colleges, as it takes great pride in being the third largest in the nation. We were able to raise over 3 million dollars to support children and families suffering from and impacted by pediatric cancer. Our Big Event consisted of a 24-hour Dance Marathon where we all came together to listen to the stories of victims, dance, and fight for the children who are enduring battles bigger than any of us could ever imagine. I am proud to be part of an organization with so much heart!
I am a member of Enactus, which is an entrepreneurial organization centered around creating projects that better serve the Iowa City community. We are partnering with The Orangutan Project and are currently in the works designing our own t-shirt and lap top stickers to help save the orangutans. More information coming soon!
